Updates from Grade 1

 Hi families!

We are so excited to have welcomed Mrs.Woolnough into our classroom officially this week.

We have been learning a lot about our feelings and how we can communicate our feelings in different ways. We read the story, In My Heart - A Book of Feelings by Jo Witek (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cC0jUuiHVyQ) and charted our feelings as a class. We talked about what each feeling meant, and shared reasons why we felt that way. We also learned what it means to be a "Purple Person". Ask me about how I am a purple person! In math we are continuing to work on creating patterns using different attributes. We create, represent, and label our patterns. Ask me some different ways I can make a pattern with colors, shapes, or sounds!

Also, we are beginning to investigate the signs of our season changing. We are reading a poem all about it, and going on a nature walk Thursday to use our 5 senses to discover more signs of Fall.
